The Aboriginal Memorial - Ramingining Community Singing In

The Aboriginal Memorial commemorates all the First Nations People who have lost their lives defending their land since 1788. Conceived by Djon Mundine OAM, Bandjalung People. Created by 44 Artists from Ramingining and surrounding communities in Central Arnhem Land. In 2022, the Ramingining community sing in the Memorial to celebrate its move to the heart of the National Gallery. The Aboriginal Memorial is the centrepiece of the National Gallery's collection.
