For Teachers & Students

Our learning programs are designed to inspire and enrich imaginations. We encourage students to think about and make art in new and critical ways using personal reflection, collaboration and experimentation.

Our education programs include tours and workshops created to connect with the Australian Curriculum and to enhance creative thinking in students of all ages and abilities. Onsite creative learning can also be extended with art making in the dedicated Tim Fairfax Learning Studio.

Preparing for your onsite visit will ensure a more rewarding experience for all — we offer guidance on what to do before, during and after school visits. Let us know your students’ needs so we can support their learning, including tailoring programs for students with disability. For education groups, bookings are essential and should be made at least four weeks in advance via Book Canberra Excursions.

Can’t come in? Bring the Gallery and the collection into the classroom with our range of digital excursions and online learning resources. We offer ideas to support independent student research, as well as resources designed to enhance learning in a range of subjects, including Arts, Humanities, Health and Education.
